Anti Bullying Work in Wolverhampton

Bullying is consistently one of ther main concerns identified by children and young people in Wolverhampton with regards to staying safe. Whenever children and young people have had the opportunity to talk about safety issues, bullying is always at the top of their list. Wolverhampton's multi-agency Anti-Bullying Policy aims to support and influence the work of all organisations working with children and young people in the city.

The aims of Anti-Bullying in Wolverhampton are:

  • Increase support for schools/agencies
  • Improve support for parent/carers
  • Increase recording and case management of bullying incidents
  • support for those children and young people who bully others
  • Increase ownership of anti-bullying work across all agencies who work with children and young people in Wolverhampton
  • awareness of bullying issues and anti-bullying work in Wolverhampton
  • Increase awareness of and confidence in dealing with cyberbullying
  • Improving the involvement of children and young people in anti-bullying work
  • Increase awareness and use of local & national good practice in anti-bullying work
  • Prioritise activity around prejudice-driven bullying (race, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, gender, age, religion/culture)
